Space Explorers: By Hayden Sweeney

So you want to know about space, right? Well, go on and learn.                                                                                                                                                 Inside space’s home                                                                        In space there are in fact very interesting things. Comets, moons, meteors, and stars. Lots of stars. One of the most important, and maybe the most thing in space is the sun. Without the sun, we would have no light, the sky would always be super dark, and we probably wouldn’t even exist in the first place. And animals wouldn’t exist either. Lets talk about the planets in space. You may think there are only eight and then a dwarf planet(Pluto). But there are way more.                                                                                                                                                       Mercury                                                                 Mercury is the first planet from the sun. At day, Mercury’s temperatures soar to up to 817 degrees. At night, it drops down to –55. Mercury is also very rocky. In 1990, a rover was sent to Mercury and it took a picture of a rock that was like a burgundy color. It takes Mercury just 88 days to orbit the sun.                                                                                                                                                         Venus                                                                      Venus is the second planet from the sun. It is also the hottest planet in our solar system. The temperature can be up to 920 degrees. Venus has a lot of gas. A whole lot. It takes Venus 255 days to orbit the sun.                                                                           Earth

WATCH OUT!!! TORNADO!!!

My 4-year old brother went to bed at about 8:00 Tuesday night while I was in the shower.

          5 minutes later…

“GET OUT OF THE SHOWER!!!” My dad yells. I turn the shower off and quickly grab my towel(without drying off with it). I see dad run out of Parker’s room, carrying him.”Get down there!” My mom tells me, Parker and Cooper. Us and mom sit down on the couch in the basement. After a minute or so, my dad comes downstairs. “I just saw a funnel cloud outside.” he says. Only me and mom go upstairs.”I only saw a funnel cloud not a…” Dad starts says. “TORNADO!!!” I yell as I beat my parents to the door. “HOW WERE WE EXPECTING THIS?!?!” Cooper hears me and he bumps into me at the basement door. “Don’t go look you’ll be scared to death.” I say. “But don’t you remember Hayden, I’m a proffesional kids tornado watcher guy!” I start laughing. “That’ll never happen.” “W—whats happening?” Parker asks. “There’s a big storm, right?” “Yep.” I say. After its over, I found out that my grandparents fence blew off a piece. Connor’s trampoline went back into Garden Spot. A shed tore down. A playset fell down, there’s holes in a few peoples roof, and one house a window cracked, half of the roof came off and a car lost a front window. This is the worst thing of my life. I thought.

The Water Cycle: By Hayden Sweeney

Evaporation, condensation, and precipitation

Look up in the sky when it is raining, snowing, sleeting, or hailing. The rain or hail or whatever it is flows into the sun. That’s called precipitation(pre-sip-i-tate-shun). Then the water gets heated by the sun to get warmer and the water vapor gets wet. That is called evaporation(e-vap-a-rate-shun). Hear that word vapor in there? After that happens, the water goes underground the next time it rains. And that same water and same cycle goes over and over again. You ay think that’s gross, but don’t worry. The water gets cleaned so we can have nice clean fresh water and not dirty water.

Lakes and Ponds

Lakes and ponds are like a island of water because they are both always surrounded by land all the time.  Algae is at the bottom of those lakes and ponds. Algae is small plants that are stuck to the bottom of the lakes and ponds. But most of the algae is small so that you can’t see it.

The Order of the Water Cycle

This is the order that all water goes in. First is precipitation. Next is accumalation(a-cyume-i-late-shun)Then the water evaporates. Lastly, the water goes through condensation. The same water always goes through the same cycle. And that is the water cycle.
